Star Trek 2 has been filming scenes at California’s Lawrence Livermore Laboratory this week.
Lab spokeswoman Lynda Seaver told the Oakland Tribune in an e-mail on Tuesday; “We do have a film crew on site, known only as the HH project. We are not allowing media on the set, per their request.”
Filming is taking place in the lab’s spacious National Ignition Facility where scientists experiment with ultraviolet laser light, said Dale Kaye, president of the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce and a Livermore Valley film commissioner. “It’s very futuristic in there, so I can see how that would be a good backdrop.”
The cast has also been sighted in the small town of Pleasanton.
